Install angry Ip scanner in kali Linux.
Angry ip scanner is an awesome tool for searching live hosts on your network.It is an open source software available for windows,mac and Linux.
Angry IP scanner simply pings each IP address to check if it's alive, then optionally it is resolving its hostname, determines the MAC address, scans ports, etc. The amount of gathered data about each host can be extended with plugins.
Scanning results can be saved to CSV, TXT, XML or IP-Port list files. With help of plugins, Angry IP Scanner can gather any information about scanned IPs. Anybody who can write Java code is able to write plugins and extend functionality of Angry IP Scanner.
It is very lightweight. You dont have to install Angry ip scanner in order to run it.It is very very fast.
Install Angry ip Scanner on kali Linux
We need to download Angry ip scanner first. Download from here Remember guys since we are downloading for Kali Linux so download debian package and select your according to your system architecture.If your running older system the go for 32 bit and if your system supports 64 then download 64 bit.
Install Angry ip scanner's deb package.
Now fire up your terminal and first switch to the directory where you have downloaded it's package and type the:
root@seven:~/Downloads# dpkg -i ipscan_3.4_amd64.deb
Now it's ready to run.Run it from applications menu.
Scan for hosts with Angry ip scanner-Kali Linux
When you start you will be presented with nice user interface.To run scan enter your ip range. If you dont specify then it will scan whole subnet by default.
As you can see here it scanned and found only 1 host thats because there is only one user connected to my network .Hope it helped you.Thanks.
